Vaccine induced autoimmunity: The price we pay for a flawed vaccine design and safety process

Description

Catalase is an autoantigen associated with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). H. pylori catalase exhibits significant homology to human catalase and was therefore determined to be unsuitable as a vaccine antigen. However, catalase from other organisms which have similar homology, contaminate many approved vaccines.
