README file Dataset title: What do we mean by “data” in the arts and humanities? Interview transcripts (University of Bologna, FICLIT) and GTM coding Dataset author/s: Bianca Gualandi (University of Bologna), https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8202-8493 Luca Pareschi (University of Rome Tor Vergata), https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4402-9329 Silvio Peroni (University of Bologna), https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0530-4305 Dataset contact person: Bianca Gualandi (University of Bologna), biancagualandi15@gmail.com Publication year: 2022 Dataset contents: The dataset consists of: - this README file in .txt format - a folder named "Interview_trascripts". This folder contains 19 files in .txt format, each corresponding to 1 interview. All interviews were recorded and transcribed, and the transcript was then anonymised. The participants to the study all worked at the department of Classical Philology and Italian Studies (FICLIT) at the University of Bologna at the time of the interview. Before the start of each interview, the participant gave their explicit consent to being recorded. After the interview they gave their explicit consent, via email, to the publication of the anonymised interview transcripts as part of this dataset. The interviews were conducted by Bianca Gualandi between the 9th of November to the 1st of December 2021 both in person and online (according to the interviewee's preference). Whenever the name "Bianca" appears in the transcript, it is a direct reference to the interviewer. - a folder file named "Analysis_GTM.qda" This folder contains the qualitative data analysis carried out according to Grounded Theory Methodology as formalised by Cathy Urquhart (2013) "Grounded Theory for Qualitative Research: A Practical Guide". Los Angeles: SAGE Publications. https://doi.org/10.4135/9781526402196 For the coding, QualCoder version 2.9 was used: Curtain, C. (2022) QualCoder 2.9 [Computer software]. Retrieved from https://github.com/ccbogel/QualCoder. QualCoder is written in python3 and distributed under the MIT LICENSE. It uses a SQlite database to store coding data. The authors of this dataset cannot guarantee that the .qda file in this folder is compatible with other qualitative data analysis applications. Dataset documentation: Abstract This dataset contains the anonymised transcripts of the interviews conducted between November and December 2021 at the department of Classical Philology and Italian Studies (FICLIT) at the University of Bologna. It further includes the qualitative data analysis of the interviews, carried out using the Grounded Theory Methodology and the open source software QualCoder version 2.9.
