Roadmap

The EU Open Research Repository has been launched as a pilot to collect feedback from early adopters and to evaluate the feasibility and usability of the platform before it fully enters service. During the pilot phase, we will continuously implement improvements to the platform. We anticipate the full launch of the EU Open Research Repository in Autumn 2024.

Timeline

• 2024 March - Release 1: Pilot launch of the EU Open Research Repository

• 2024 June - Release 2: Browsing and project communities workflows

• 2024 September - Release 3: Launch of production service

• 2024 December - Release 4: Assisted curation

• 2025 March - Release 5: Integrated FAIR assistance

Features

Over time, the EU Open Research Repository will be progressively enhanced with a suite of new features, including:

• Enhanced browsing capabilities by subject, projects, and funding programs, along with improved search functionality and faceting.

• A workflow for the onboarding of new EU projects.

• Assisted curation incorporated into the deposit workflow.

• Integration of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) assistance into the deposit workflow through third-party tools, including support for domain-specific metadata and vocabularies.
