On the Scalability of Cost-EffectiveMetropolitan Network Architectures for the 5G-Era Using Flexible Coherent Interfaces
Description
The potential of coherent interfaces with flexible modulation formats and symbol rates is assessed for various metro network architectures. The results show that per-node throughputs in the range of multiple Tbit/s are possible even with low-complexity express and add/drop architectures.
