eTryOn is a European research project funded by the European Commission under the new Framework Programme for Research and Innovation H2020. The concept of eTryOn relies on technologies that can automate the content generation for fueling novel interaction devices (VR, AR, mobile phones). By bringing together all these technologies in three innovative HFI applications, eTryOn aims to transform the creative, social and shopping experience that various types of users have when they interact with fashion items.
The vertical innovation objectives of eTryOn that will transform HFI for the three interaction experiences mentioned above can be summarized as follows: a) generation of 3D avatars of the user through a self-scanning application based on smartphones, b) modeling of the interaction between the 3D avatars and 3D garments to provide improved realism, c) emerging fashion trend detection, user profiling and garment recommendations, and d) design and development of three novel HFI applications in VR/AR.
