Inventing a shared Science Diplomacy for Europe: InsSciDE, an H2020 project (2017-2022)

InsSciDE led an interdisciplinary exploration of the history and practice of science diplomacy, its diverse applications, related concepts, and underlying power dynamics.  We focused on Heritage, Health, Security, Environment and Space, as well as on cross-cutting contributions of science academies and networks of science diplomats to addressing global challenges.

InsSciDE is a founding member of the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance. Alongside our Zenodo case studies, strategy and issue papers, further training resources are found at science-diplomacy.eu.

Coordinated by historian Pascal Griset (Sorbonne University, CNRS) the project counted 15 consortium partners across Europe: institutions of higher education, international relations strategy, and diplomatic training, as well as UNESCO. InsSciDE members represent the disciplines of history, international relations, science and technology studies, sociology, and public communication.

InsSciDE received funding under the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme (grant agreement n° 770523, 2017-2022). insscide.eu    @insscide_eu
