This is a community for researchers in dynamically real-time systems, including but not limited to dynamically real-time computing systems. Real-time is a quality of service, based on timeliness and predictability of timeliness, which is essential to the logic of the system. Timeliness is in terms of the utility to the system of when each constituent action completes. Predictability of timeliness is in terms of what kinds and degrees of prior knowledge are available about timeliness. In dynamically real-time systems, hard (i.e., having static deterministic timeliness and predictability of timeliness) real-time actions may need only lower real-time QoS’s. Conversely, certain soft (i.e., not hard) real-time actions, including very dynamic ones, may need higher real-time QoS’s. Dynamically real-time systems are very common in many fields (and in everyday life).
