Software Engineering Thesis Collection
This community aims to bring together Software Engineering theses and dissertations. Those theses are usually only available in the online libraries of the awarding universities and often they are hard to find. This Zenodo community aims at becoming a central open-access repository for Ph.D. and M.Sc. thesis and dissertations in the scope of Software Engineering. The IEEE defines Software Engineering as:
- The application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation and, maintenance of software; that is, the application of engineering to software.
- The study of approaches as in the above statement.
Uploading in this Community
The process of uploading your thesis or dissertation is the same as the one that is well documented for the Astronomy Thesis Collection. Have a look at their short video walk-through or their written walk-through. The only differences are:
- Include your thesis Handle code (if one was assigned by the library of your university) in the Alternate Identifier field before submitting the document., instead of the Bibcode.
- In the Additional notes field add a sentence such as the one that usually appears in the thesis / dissertation cover pages: "Ph.D. | M.Sc. thesis | dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of XXXXXX XXXXX XXXXXXXXX".
- In the Subjects separator create an entry for each of the SWEBOK V3 knowledge areas (KA) that are covered in the thesis; in the "term" field indicate the name of the KA (it is case sensitive and should be written in Camel Case, such as in Software Engineering Management) and in the "identifier" field indicate the link to SWEBOK taxonomy: https://www.computer.org/education/bodies-of-knowledge/software-engineering/topics
