YEASTDOC is a European Doctoral Training Programme in Yeast Biotechnology. Within YEASTDOC,12 Early Stage Researchers will be trained for productive careers as research scientists and leaders in the public or private biotechnology sectors. This will help fill the gap that is created by an increasing need for highly-trained, interdisciplinary scientists to support this key European growth sector.

The core research objective of YEASTDOC is to maximize the potential of Saccharomyces and non-Saccharomyces yeasts in the beverage and white biotechnology sectors. The data generated in YEASTDOC will provide valuable insights into flavour/aroma production, stress responses, transport mechanisms and fermentation performance in Saccharomyces and non-Saccharomyces yeasts.
